St. Mary's Elementary School

Fundraising & Donations Program

Throughout the year, St. Mary's fundraising and donations program provides events and opportunities to raise money for our school and students.

Fundraising

As a Group 1 Independent School, St. Mary’s receives 50% of the provincial education grant for operational funds. (e.g. teaching resources & supplies, salaries, maintenance). Our school raises the remaining 50% through tuition, parish subsidy and fundraising.

Throughout the year, we offer opportunities for parents to help support the school by pledging, purchasing or selling items.

St. Mary’s Parish Building Fund

We participate in a variety of capital fundraisers to help support the St. Mary’s Parish Building Fund. St. Mary’s Parish has decided to rebuild a new school following the results of a seismic evaluation confirming our changing needs to provide our students with excellent facilities and learning opportunities consistent for a 21st century learner. We plan to expand the number of classrooms and diverse programs to continue to provide excellent service to the greater St. Mary’s community. The school has initiated a voluntary Building Fund Pledge form to be distributed with the registration and re-registration package. Through your contributions, we can continue to build on a great legacy, and respond to the needs of future generations of dedication and committed Catholics. To find out more on how you can help, download our Building Fund Pledge Form from our website, or donate directly through Charitable Impact. Thank you for your generosity.

Building Fund Pledge

Dear Parents of St. Mary’s,

For several years, our parish and school community have been united in a remarkable endeavor - the
rebuilding of St. Mary’s School. Our current building has served us well but is now nearing the end of
its effective life. To continue providing the best academic education rooted in faith and virtue, we
must create a new, larger and more modern school building that meets the needs of today’s
students and generations to come.

The time to act is now. The parish is diligently finalizing a development plan to kick start this project
as soon as possible, allowing us to avoid rapidly rising construction costs.
We have made progress, but we need your immediate support. Our building fund currently stands at
$3.3 million. While we are profoundly thankful for this generosity, we know this project will cost
significantly more.

We need every family to join us in this final, critical push.

Your contribution, of any size, will allow us to meet the anticipated start-up costs and break ground.
As past generations built and paid for our church, school, rectory, and grounds, it is now our turn to
pass on these gifts and build a great legacy for the future of St. Mary’s.

Yours in Christ,

Fr. Joseph Dsouza, O.P.        Ms. Brenda Krivuzoff, Principal
