About St. Mary's School

We follow the curriculum as established by the B.C. Ministry of Education, along with: Religion. The "Born of the Spirit" series is taught in all grades. Students are prepared to receive the sacraments of Reconciliation, Holy Eucharist (grade two), and Confirmation (grade seven). Included in the Sacramental preparations are specially prepared liturgies for children. The school children also prepare for and attend an all-school liturgy and Benediction once per month; as well as Reconciliation twice yearly with their class. Paraliturgies to celebrate special times during the liturgical year are interwoven through our year. Religion goes far beyond a subject taught once per day; it permeates everything we say and do throughout the day.

Other special programs include: Computers. Our computer program has continued to expand this past year. Our Library has two Multi-Media stations for student research, "search and retrieval", and enjoyment. Every class has several in-class computers which are integrated into the classroom programme. Our sixteen Lab computer (brand new last year) are used regularly to develop Keyboarding, Word Processing, Graphics and Data Analysis skills. This year's additions to our Techno-Toys: a digital camera, a video camera and VCR with computer editing capabilities. Computer technology is definitely an integral part of education at St. Mary's.
